Default 2004 tracker clicks once but wont start

2004 Tracker ZR2, 4x4 2.5 liter v6 auto. it will start about 10% of the time. new battery new starter, new cables

I would look into an Ignition Switch issue. Quick rookie tests... Try jiggling the key while cranking, turning the steering wheel back and forth while cranking, or if you have another key... try it.

Less common would be a bad Neutral Safety Switch. Try starting it in neutral.

Maybe somebody with more experience could elaborate on how to test these things more professionally. Spend the time researching and please don't just throw expensive parts at it hoping it will solve the issue.

Single click and no start is usually a sign of a bad connection on either end of one of the battery cables.

Passlock anti-theft is an epic fail on Chevy, GM vehicles. It's the box in the dash that will disable your car if the key and box signals aren't synced. You can wait 10 minutes and try again. There is a lot of info on the internet about it. Good luck
