Smile Airbag SRS Code Reader for 2002 Chevy Tracker

Is there any definitive info on an Airbag SRS Code Reader (Brands and Models), that someone can buy, that will work on Chevy Trackers? That will also clear the codes? I've tried all kind of ways to search on this forum, but have not found any topics that would give me the info I am looking for.

I bought a Tech 2 clone for less than $300 online. Request the GM firmware. It will run every diagnostic test in the Tracker factory service manual. Most generic scanners only read and clear "P" (powertrain) codes. The tech 2 also reads "B" (body) codes (including air bag) and "C" (chassis) codes (for anti-lock brakes). Start your search here

Well worth the money if you plan to keep your Tracker. It also works on every OBD2 GM car up to 2013.

Thank you L84sky
Is that the first one on the link you provided? Is that the one you have? I believe the GM card is included, if I'm reading it right.

Definitely shop around. Some sellers provide the plastic storage case, mine did not. Most sellers provide one 32MB memory card. There are four variants. You want the GM module. Find a seller that can provide the dongle to unlock the TIS 2000 software. With an old XP laptop, slightly above average computer savvy and a USB to RS-232 cable you can program any GM module up to model year 2013. The Tracker only has two programmable modules (the PCM and EBCM), but many GM cars have body control modules and the like that need to be programmed when they are replaced. The Tech 2 is what the Chevy dealer used back in the day. It's a wonderful stand alone scan tool but it is fantastic if you have the factory service manual to go with it. These things used to sell for $5,000 to $7,000 but now they are practically giving them away since they became obsolete. Besides diagnostics you can tell the PCM you have different size tires on the car. Here's a trick you will need to know: when it asks for the "product line" it wants the 5th digit of the VIN (4th digit for GM passenger cars).
