Any Tips
I recently got a 1999 Chevy Tracker 1.6L 2Dr Manual off of a relative currently working on fixing bought it as a non running and non driving car the first time i seen the car the cam gear and camshaft both had a huge hole in them so i assumed that was the problem once i took the camshaft out it turned out the head was junked this was before i had it hauled to its current location after getting it to me i took the head off of the car and the previous owner had put the cylinder head gasket on upside down blocking essential ports thus destroying the whole head i have ordered a brand new gasket set and head bolts for the engine off of Rock Auto. But the car is missing some parts of value such as the soft top support and the framing for the soft top is junk its cracked in a lot of places the car was used to go hunting and haul hay and such/ a farm use vehicle the body isn't in the best shape but not the worst its missing the side trimming on one side and is missing the front badge also there is a minor dent on the passenger side quarter panel the only rusty part of the car is the front left fender with only a few spots of rust showing not noticeable from a far interior is great, under side of the car looks very clean. As you may know parts for these cars aren't just hard to find but expensive to buy i am currently unemployed as i am 15 years of age i am working on the car out of my parents garage just introducing myself and looking for tips anything will help.
The first thing to know is the Chevy Tracker is really a Suzuki Grand Vitara with a Chevrolet badge attached to it. North American Suzuki stopped selling cars in 2012. That's why Tracker parts are so hard to find in America. Suzuki parts suppliers still exist overseas. You will find more in-depth information on the Suzuki forum. Keep in mind forum members can't see what you see. A picture can be worth a thousand words.
