Default Cabin air filter

The cabin air filters will not fit. The filters are located forward of the glove box. I have a 2002 2 door 4x4 Chevy tracker and there was not any filters in the filter compartment. I purchased new ones and they will not fit. About 1/8” too long. I had this same problem with a 2003 4 door 4x4 Chevy tracker. Why??

The foam filter seal goes towards the driver (on left-hand drive cars).

It’s a little tricky. But look closely on the filters, there are directional arrows.
When you get them installed correctly, they FIT. (bonus)

Not sure what you mean by "second image" but this is the top filter sliding in over the bottom filter.

Well ;

The other picture you posted says on it " 1 OF 2" .

I peered in my glovebox and still am not sure where they go, I'll print these images out and see what I can figure out .

? Is there a trap door I need to remove ? .

Yeah, I see what you mean. That was supposed to refer to "1 of 2" filters not 1 of 2 images.

Here are both filters in place.

This is the trap door that holds them in place.

You have to drop the glove box door (squeeze the latches inboard) to get access to the cabin filters.
