Default DRL Diode Location

Just Bought a 2001 2.0 4x4 tracker 2 door soft top. Many issues but bought it cheap. Cannot find the DRL diode. Is it in the DRL relay? I like the truck and other then the total lack of soft top plastic parts it is a tight truck. I have gone through the posts and not found what I'm looking for. Hope someone has insight. thanks

It's near the PCM.

You have the best diagrams. After review I think my problem is in the headlight switch. If I turn on the lights they work but do not turn off. When I remove the relay and reinstall it the lights are off until I move the switch. Then it starts all over again.

Is this happening with the key removed from the ignition switch?

The ambient light sensor is in parallel with the headlight switch. Eliminate the light sensor as the source of your
problem before you pull the steering wheel to get access to the headlight switch. This short video will show you
how to remove the sensor.

sensor unplugged no change. Am going to salvage yard and get one to plug in before I take mine apart. I need to spend as little as I can. Still haven't fixed the soft top track issue.

Testing with a second headlamp switch assembly is an excellent idea.

You probably already know where to plug it in.

If the headlight switch needs to be replaced you'll need to disable the air bag first. The air
bag coil is part of the headlamp switch assembly.

You will also need a steering wheel puller.

If the headlight switch does not fix the problem, try swapping the headlight and tail light relays.

If that doesn't work unplug the DRL module. It's the silver box about the
size of a pack of cigarettes under the dash inboard of steering column.

Thanks again for the assist. Waiting for the weather to be fair to get through the mud in the salvage yard. Where did you ever collect so many good wiring diagrams. Being a disabled Mechanic who loved doing electrical work on domestic cars and trucks it means a lot to have clear diagrams. Will advise of the progress of my journey into tracker world.

I bought the Factory Service Manuals when I bought the car. Sometimes you can find them
on eBay. If that's not a option here are some free Suzuki manuals online. Your car is the SQ420
with the J20 engine.

I got a switch from the salvage yard and my lights work just fine. It has cruise on the stem but its not interfering with the operation, mine doesn't have cruise. I am looking for the track the top hooks to on the back I just need one intact to use on a 3D printer so my engineer buddy says.
