Default ECM and Power Accessories Upgrade

2002 Tracker. I'm wanting to upgrade an all manual locks/windows/no cruise control model to all powered components and stay as OEM as possible (I will likely go with aftermarket locks with a separate remote start system though). Can't really cut any corners with the cruise control and prefer to stay away from aftermarket universal power window kits, so here's my starting questions:

1. Do I really need to change the ECM on this model for the cruise control to be added?
2. How do I know which ECM I have/need?

Thanks in advance!

>> How do I know which ECM I have

In addition to the model/part number on the bottom of the PCM you wil see a brief description of the vehicle it fits.
Your questions about mods are above my paygrade.

Funny , I try to do the exact opposite.
Keep things as simple and easy to service as possible, reduce my reliance on failure prone electronics and modules.

I have a 2004 ZR2. The windows work but the power locks are weak.
i often wish I had the manual windows and locks like my 1999 two door Tracker has.

This sounds like a HUGE project for a two decades old vehicle that you may not keep for much longer.

Default You are in for a treat!

I just got doing this to my 99 4dr 2.0 tracker. Was base model. No a/c or power anything Now I have dual alternator system with heated side mirrors. It was PAIN. so much splicing to the point I went to my local scrap yard and just re to pulled a new harness. Biggest thing to understand is that a lot of the wiring harness inside the vehicle and the door jam connection have the wires already routed so don't just go cutting like I did. Try to keep the whole length of the windows and door locks with pins and connectors. And it will go alot easier then it did for me. Also I didn't have to switch out ecms since they don't effect anything substantial 99%.of it went to the fuse block under the steering .But I do have some back ups from my junki yard adventure time if you do need one think I even have a 2.3 some where but decided that I'm probably going to use a completely different engine now so do need it
