Fuel Tank Leak always something
I notice my fuel tank was leaking at the seam the other day. I looked on fleabay for a replacement. There are two different tanks, one has 2 holes in the top they say is for 2 door models and the other one has 3 holes in the top that says its for 4 door models. I have on 01 4 door so I assume I need the one with 3 holes but I want to be sure, so I don't have to try and return something that's wrong. Is that right? Thanks.

He said the part # for the sock but not the pump. That's Ok. Nice video, thanks L84sky. I guess I'll just order the one fleabay says I need. I have some time, my tank isn't dripping on the ground, its just seeping at the seam, but I'm sure it going to get worser and worser.

Well, I got my new tank installed, new pump, & new straps. Some of the screws seemed a little short with the thick new gaskets. I dug around in my stash and found some longer ones. The hardest thing was getting the new straps in place because when the old straps were removed two of the bolts brought some threads from the hole with them. I figured out what to do to get it done. If I ever have to do this again I will take the old tank to the car wash and blast all the YUCK & ICK off the top so that way when I install all the old stuff from the old tank to the new tank I wont have to worry about all the YUCK & ICK getting in the new tank. With that being said, I didn't get any in the new tank being as **** as I am. So Im happy its all done. Now Im wondering whats gonna break and need replaced next. Later.

01, I needed the tank with 4 holes total. The one in the video is 00, needed the 3 hole tank. The way I understand it is the 01 & up has a vapor storage compartment or something like that, where as the 00 & down doesn't. I figure since I was removing the tank if I didn't replace the pump it would go bad in a week or 2 so may as well put in a new one along with the retaining straps. But I kept the old ones just in case.
