Default Ignition Coil

I believe I need to replace my ignition coil in my 04 chevy tracker. Would only 1 coil out of 6 cause my car to not start? We have narrowed it down to the coil being the culprit.

Your engine would still run on 5 cylinders, so no, one bad coil wouldn't prevent the engine from starting. How did you narrow your problem down to it being the one coil.

I didnt necessarly narrow it down to 1 coil, but the battery, alternator and starter are all fine. We also tried to start it with starting fluid, with no luck, so it is getting fuel. We pulled one plug and was getting a super faint spark and not near where it should be. I only pulled 1 plug though and didnt check them all.

It might be the pcm. What did the plug look, and pull a couple to compare. What has changed since you have this problem?

Actually I came home tonight, tried to start it and didnt have any luck at first. I tried starting it while pumping the gas and got it to go. It almost died after that but then I held the gas down for 10 sec or so and it was fine. I still drove it to the shop for them to look at it in the morning tho. I didnt end up getting one ignition coil

The shop could not replicate the problem and he said he was 90% sure it was the fuel pump and at this time he does not recommend replacing it until it acts up again or goes out. I have not had the issues again in the last 2 days.
