Default Need help with 03 tracker

Hi I was wondering if any one could help me out? I have a 03 Tracker 2.0 4 door recently the weather has gotten cold. On really cold mornings Ill be driving to work then the air bag light will come on and the vehicle dies. After I gets a boost everything is fine. The first time it was fine for 2 months or so but now its cold every day.

So now when I starts the tracker the battery light will a pear. if I drive it like this she will run till the airbag light comes on and the dies again. Now if I gets a boost every thing is good until the next morning. If I boost it while the battery light is on nothing happen its like it has to die before she runs well again.

Some one told me to disconnect the neg battery terminal to see if it was the alternator so I did. Well the wipers started to go nuts. I dont know if that was suppose to happen or not because I dont know much about vehicles.

Anyways I had the alternator checked and got a new battery and still the problem remains. In park or neutral she'll run fine but once in gear it wont charge unless I keep my foot on the gas. Had it in to the shop and the mechanic couldn't find any thing wrong with it cause i had to get a boost before bringing it to him. And now the tracker is in the driveway with the battery light on and I cant get it in the shop, Im to afraid its going to die on the way there. I cant afford to tow it either.

I hope its some thing easy to fix Like a bad ground some thing I can do myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really would hate to get rid of it.

I would suggest to start at the battery. Clean the terminals, check for corrosion, replace if necessary.

Then work your way to checking all the wires and connectors underhood.

Then if that still fails.. check the fuses and relays.
