Hi All, new here. Just bought a 2002 tracker ZR2 with 108,000 miles for my daughter from ebay. Apparently the seller turned off the CEL but didn't fix the issue which is a p0430 code. I know I should of checked the codes before completing the deal but I forgot my code reader & checked it when I got home. That is when I realized what happened when it showed a yellow light. Then after driving a while the CEL is back on.


I know the code is for catalyst efficiency bank 2. Is it 95-100% of the time the passenger cat needs replacing? I assume the O2 sensors are reading correctly & most likely I have to change the cat, correct? I don't have time to chase this issue & would prefer to just do it once even if it is the cat.


If I change the cat is there any issues I might run into other than rusted bolts?
