dont think you can do that since theres a picture limit per post. besides that people might be overwhelmed by one post being so big. its best to hit reply so it separates everything almost like chapters in a book

Three month follow-up.

1. Both the front differential and the rack & pinion steering gear must be removed before the oil pan can be removed.




Here's how to do that. Remove all the mounting bolts from the front differential. Slide the differential towards the rear of the vehicle.
That will provided enough space to get a ratchet on the steering gear bolts as shown in the picture above. Remove the steering gear.
Then you will have enough room to remove the differential.

2. The gasket set comes with an oil pan gasket.




Suzuki no longer recommends using this gasket. They want you to use RTV instead.




The Gasket set comes with black RTV. My recommendation is don't use it. Go the auto parts store and spend $5 on a
tube of Ultra Grey RTV. Quickly run a bead around the perimeter of the oil pan. Do not put RTV around the oval O-ring.
Torque the oil pan as quickly as possible. The RTV must be squeezed out before it sets so the O-ring will seal tightly
against the pan. If the RTV sets up before the bolts are tight, the O-ring will not seal and you will have to do it all over again.


3. The oil pan may not be the only engine leak.




In the very first illustration for this project I mislabeled the location of the oil pan O-ring with a red circle.
The actual location is indicated by the red arrow. After I replaced the oil pan I discovered oil was also
leaking from the area inside the red circle.


The round engine O-ring shown above is also supplied in the gasket set.



But the engine would have to be removed from the car to change it and I am not willing to to that. After the oil pan O-ring
replacement the amount of engine oil dripping on my garage floor is about a quarter of what is was originally. I can live with
that for now. I'm only going to pull the engine for a total rebuild or a crate engine replacement.
