Default Will not start. Not throwing any codes

Good evening,

1999 Chevy Tracker Base 2.0 Liter engine and Front Wheel Drive (FWD). Today the car stalled when I was driving and it will not start. The car will turn over, but the engine sounds a little rough and it will not start. The fuel pump, fuel strainer, and fuel pump relay have all been replace in the last six months. I replaced the water pump last month. It still might be fuel of course. I hooked up my trusty scanner and there are no stored codes in the computer.

I know I need fuel, spark, and timing for the car to start. Has anyone experienced anything like this and how did you fix it?

Any other thoughts are always appreciated.

Thanks.

need to verify you have spark and fuel. take a spark plug out attach it to the spark plug wire and take a jumper cable and put one end around the metal part of the plug and ground the other end and see if you can see spark. to test fuel try spraying starting fluid into the intake. could be something as simple as the distributor cap and rotor

Some of the aftermarket fuel pumps have been known to fail after short periods of time. As mentioned above spray some fuel into the intake to see if it runs for a few seconds or do a fuel pressure test.

I popped the valve cover up and found a broken timing chain. It's the first time I've replaced one on this engine so we'll see how it goes.
