2002 Trailblazer - trouble starting engine
For the last six months, I've had intermittant problems starting my '02 Trailblazer. When I try to start the engine, it turns but it does not start. After attempting another 2-3 times, it still does not start. I wait 8-10 minutes and attempt again and finally it works. When it starts again, the car emits an odor not unlike rotten eggs. I've had OnStar perform diagnostics on the car, and they have been unable to find any problems. I have taken the car to three different dealers. They replaced some sensors, but this obviously did not fix the problem.
Have any of you had any similar experiences, and if so, what did you do to solve it?
Thanks.

I've heard of problems with the catalytic converter that will cause a odor like that. I don't know whether or not that will help you, but it will give you a place to start troubleshooting.
You may want to run some fuel system cleaner/dryerthrough also. It could very well be that you have a bad buildup in the fuel system that will ittermittently cause it to not to start.

what happens if you turn the key to start (but dont start the engine)- to prime the fuel pump....
do this several times----- so that pressure builds up.....
then turn the key to try to start. see if it starts on the 1st try
