I have a 1990 V8 5.7 Silverado 1500. I can't get it to start anymore.

I've changed the distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and fuel pump was changed not long before I bought it (6-9 months ago). I went to O'Reilly's and had them check the ignition module and they said it was good. I unscrewed the fuel lines at the TBI and sure enough I'm getting gas there. Earlier today I took off the air filter and sprayed a shot of ether, it started and ran for about 10 sec and then shut off. Tried it again twice with no luck.

I'm by no means a mechanic so if you have a suggestion don't get too fancy with the lingo, but any and all help is welcome.

How hard would that be to change?

 

Check the fuel pressure first. Just because you have fuel doesn't mean you have the correct fuel pressure. Yes it could be the pickup along with many other things.
