Default Dtc p0220

I have an '03 EXT with 5.3L engine. I have had this reoccuring error. I cleaned the throttle body. Any other suggestions? Can this malfunction cause the throttle to stick open?

Welcome to the forum. P0220 means an electrical problem on the TP sensor #2 circuit. I doubt spraying cleaner into the TB will do anything for it. It's not going to make the throttle stick but it'll make the PCM go into the limp mode. The affected circuit is as follows, starting at the TB:

Terminal B, BLK/WHT wire, Low Ref goes to TAC module, connector C1, terminal 10
Terminal E, LT BLU/BLK wire, 5V Ref goes to TAC module, connector C1, terminal 9
Terminal F, PPL wire, TP Sens 2 goes to TAC module, connector C1, terminal 11

How good are you with the vehicle electronics? With the key on, disconnect the electrical connector from the TB and then verify the 5V and low reference (ground) on the respective wires with key on. Then, reconnect the connector and then back-probe terminal F (that's the PPL wire) while someone else works the accelerator pedal. The voltage readings should change smoothly without any dropouts. If you have a scan tool, check for correlation between TP sensor #1 and #2 through the entire range of accelerator pedal. If this sounds Greek to you, take it in and get it serviced.

EinST, thank you for your reply. I have not been able to check this out yet. I will provide an update when I get this done.

I tested the voltages and found them to be OK. I only have a simple scan tool, so I took it in to get it looked at. Everything was functioning correctly. The mechanic suggested to replace the TAC. But at $300 I don't want to replace it unless I'm 100% positive it is the problem. Right now evrything is working OK.

Thanks for the update. No, you don't want to replace the TAC on a whim. The problem may well be in the wiring.
