my 2005 trailblazer is still acting up, but it seems to defy the laws of physics.

At the 3/4 or almost full throttle there is no power and it starts blowing black smoke bad. however the only computer code is a P0171 which is saying it is running lean. The fuel pressure stays consistent at 60 psi, so i figured it isnt a filter problem.

The gas guage quit working right a long time ago and I have run out of gas a few times. After it runs out and you refill it, it would run great for about a tank of fuel, then start runing bad again. It only does this if it runs completely out. weird.

I dont understand how it could say its lean with black smoke pouring from the exhaust.

Any thoughts?
