New owner of 2004 TB LS with a couple issues. PLEASE HELP!!!
I just bought a 2004 TB LS and it is in very exceptional shape. It has been garaged for the last 9 years by my wife's aunt up in the bay area. The odo read 73,603miles when I picked it up. What a mission I took to pick this f***er up. It was well worth it though. I paid $5,000 for it. "Almost" everything works in perfect condition. I am just having a few issues:
The left (driver) tail light does not want to come on when the lights are turned on, but that bulb does light up when brakes are compressed. I even switched the right side (pass) circuit board to the left and same outcome, but when I switched it back to the right side it worked fine, so I hope I have come to the conclusion that it is not the circuit board and may be a wiring issue. I called the local dealer and they said based off the last 8 of my vin, my truck does not qualify for recall.
Next:
Based on my research, it seems to me that the Lic Plate Lights may not work due to the taillight malfunction. I checked the bulbs and it wasn't that. I checked online and a lot of ppl suggest to use a mulitimeter to test it which I will be doing soon, but I just don't have much to do so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Last: (for now)
I noticed my rear speakers are not working. The previous owner is a very conservative lady that only listens to talk readio a quarter vol level. How can I check to see if they're blown or not. I do not want to take the door panels off, b ut I have to they will have to wait a while.
BTW, I checked every last fuse in the truck in both areas and every fuse is in brand new condition. no corrosion nor are any warped or burnt.
Any help would be great. This is all I have found to be an issue so far. I have only had the truck since Teusday morn.

You can use the multi meter to test for power at the tail light socket just set it to 12v dc plug your ground wire (black) in one side and your positive wire (red) in the other and see what you get. You can also set it to ohms and do the same thing just search for what it ohms should be example .005-.010 as for the speakers in the door set the fader and balance to the rear and for each side left and right. If you still don't get any sound you'll have to take off the door panels and check if they are hooked up
Check the taillight circuit board, it may have to be replaced. Corrosion is the culprit generally. After checking the fuses and relays, it may need to be replaced. As for those rear speakers, It depends of the type of stereo and if you have the Bose premium stereo with the rear entertainment center in the center console. Pull the stereo and check for loose connections otherwise check the wires to the speakers. Little critters like crawling underneath and chewing on the wiring.
