Shifter Button will not allow me to move from "Park" Position
I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LS, Automatic 4WD.
I recently went outside to go for a drive, I put the key in and started it up just like normal with no problem. I went to put it in reverse, and the button on the shifter that allows me to would not depress. I usually hear a relay of some sort switch near the shifter when I depress the brake, but I am not hearing it. I then shut the vehicle off, but the key will not rotate to be removed. I started to see what other issues were going on, the A/C is not getting power, and also my turn signals are not working. I'm assuming it's a power issue to effect those varies items. I checked all the fuses and did not see any blown, I checked fuses for the ignition, hazard lights, automatic shift lock, and A/C. But I also visually checked all other fuses as well. For now I have removed the console and I'm using the by-pass buttons for putting the vehicle in gear, and also to remove my key. The mechanical side of the shifter to the transmission is fine as I can still put vehicle in drive and what not. So it's not a linkage problem.
First time poster. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jon

I learned a couple new things, the A/C blower is not working, but the compressor is. I checked power to the ignition and everything seems to be working like it should, I replaced the brake light switch and it did not do the trick. My headlights seem to work intermittently, the high beams work when I do the temporary hold, but not constantly on.
