steering boot CLAMPS
2004 Trailblazer LT 4WD - steering rack boot clamps are discontinued on any GM parts websites. These boots had zip-ties on them but they slipped off. These clamps are narrower that a typical CV Boot clamp.
These clamps can't exceed 3/16" (4.7mm) wide (which is the width of the groove the clamp settles into). Where can I find these?
ALSO, what lube is specified for the main steering rack shaft?

I bought clamps at NAPA. They are the style that has a hook and numerous little slots that the hook clips into, then you have to squeeze the top protrusion tight to seal the clamp. This style: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CVB6...pressionRank=6
They come in different sizes.
You will want these pliers for that job: Lisle 30600 https://www.ebay.com/p/1400718306
There's not a lot of room in there and these work quite well for the job. You will need to put one finger on the top of the tool to hold it to the clamp while you squeeze it with the other hand.
As for grease, I just used what came with the inner tie rod end, but I would think that any good quality synthetic grease would work.
I know what you mean about the zip ties coming off!
