Temp goes up to 3/4 mark when turning on AC

Temp goes up to 3/4 mark when turning on AC
What a headache......dang it. I have a 2003 Chevy LTZ Trailblazer. Great car, but recently every time I turn on the AC the temp goes up to the 3/4 mark....What is wrong with it? Fan, thermostat, fan clutch? I cannot keep dumping $$$ into this car. Help! When you turn off the AC it goes back down to the halfway mark.
