Question Wire on Oil screens on new solenoid?

Hello everyone I had a stupid question. I got a new solenoid today in the mail and the oil screens on them have a wire/spring on them as you see in the picture. I understand that may be there to hold the oil screens however do I leave them on or take off. The one without was like that. Thanks everyone!
