TraverseChevrolet's full size Crossover. Introduced in the model year 2009, the Traverse is a stylish and highly fuel efficient cross between a powerful SUV and a spacious minivan.
My name is James and my wife and I were the proud new owner of a 2020 Traverse for about 5 hours on Friday. Wife took the vehicle out and called saying the sunroof was broken. On looking at it a piece on the side of the sunroof won't tuck back in when trying to close it. Can someone identify what this part is: Is that weather stripping (doesn't go all around just the sides) or some part of sound reduction when opened?
So we emailed the dealership and they said they will, of course, fix it. The car was only 4 hours in our possession at this point.
Unfortunately we went to pick up our children at school right away to surprise them with the new car. We sat in park outside the school on the side of a major highway with a long line of people behind us waiting their turn to pull in, but when I transitioned to D(rive) nothing happened. The engine revved but no movement. We put it back into park, then back to D, nothing, the transmission did not kick in. Park, turn off the car, start it up, D, Nothing. Switch to L, nothing. Tried 4WD, nothing. Turned it off again and back on, mind you lots of cars having to go around us on a busy highway to get their kids, put it in D, nothing .. THEN EVERYTHING, the car leapt ahead about 10 feet as the transmission finally kicked in. If the car in front hadn't moved ahead to get their kids, we would have rammed them. Thank god no one was hurt. We were able to drive forward (SLOWLY), get our kids and get home without any more issues. We called the dealership from the car when it first occured.
The dealership came by when we got home and took the car back to the dealership to be looked at. The dealership has been great bringing us a loaner (after bringing us our trade in back first, then called to say they were coming AGAIN to bring us a proper loaner).
All this within 5 hours of picking up our brand new Traverse.
