Default Radio replaced

I have a 2010 Chevy Traverse last Friday the radio the radio randomly shut off. The clock, aux cable, cd player everything doesn't work. I also have no interior sound. So when I turn the blinkers on I can't hear the clicking noise inside the car or the reminder sound to put my seat belt on.

I took it to the repair shop and after a diagnostic test I find out I need a new radio.

What do you suppose a new factory radio is going to cost me? Over $600. The service guy did inform me that there was a recall a little while back on radios of the traverse. However they have since stopped that recall.

My question is...because there is other electrical things that run through the stereo is there a way to bypass that so I can buy a cheap stereo and put into my traverse? Or do I have to spend the money and install a new factory stereo?

a chime module is used with aftermarket radio's to keep the warning buzzers functional. Probably cost about 100

Try looking on Ebay for the factory radio. You can get them there much cheaper. They have some new and used ones. You can also try the junk yards in your area.
