Rotor Being Replaced Prematurely
I just had my 2010 Chevrolet Traverse in for routine inspection at a local shop
and the mechanic told me all four rotors on the brakes need to be replaced.
WTH only 50000 miles on it the back rotor rusted so badly cannot be turned.
600 dollars later. Faithful Chevy Guy but this stuff burns me up

your options are:
-perform brake service yearly
-drive the care more...cars that sit or do not get used much rust rotors
-get a car with rear drum brakes
50 000 miles is pretty good but you would bet 100 000 out of drums.
if you live in the rust belt drum brakes are the better option...last longer, do not rust and less servce is needed due to the enclosed drum keeping crud out of the brakes. throw off from the front wheels crud up the rear.
