2005 Uplander recent electrical Issues
Having reported before about my rear wiper not working but it does work when applying current from another source so with that said I now have a few more issues with one of the rear speakers crackling when I open either of the power sliding doors or the two front passenger doors .After i close the sliding door and get into the driver's seat the crackling is still heard and with this crackling the radio works sound is heard through the speakers but once I start the vehicle the crackling sound goes away and no sound is heard through the radio even still the radio is on.Also to my surprise that when i unlock the doors on either door the rear wiper will work intermittently when you actuate only the unlock switch. Also when i put on my rear window defroster my rear wiper will work constantly until you turn off the rear defrost but it does not work from the turn signal control. With doing this on the rear defrost too many times the 40 amp fuse blew out in the fuse box inside the engine compartment and the same thing with the door locks again unlocking too many times blew out the 15 amp fuse on the inside fuse compartment. So i replaced the 15 amp fuse for the door locks and sometime the rear wiper will still move so have to be careful not to actuate the unlock too many times otherwise the fuse will blow again.I did not replace the 40 amp fuse for the rear defrost until i figure out this new problem.I am suspecting broken or water corroded shorted wires in the wiring harness on the passenger side floor along the kick plate or on the drivers side under the carpet from what i can figure out. This above mentioned problem has only appeared in the last few months of cold weather here in Winnipeg.Any further advice in that i am going in right direction with looking at the wiring in the floor area with this problem that i have recently encountered would be greatly appreciated.I will wait until we have some plus temperatures to look into these issues further.Otherwise has been a fairly good van for the past 11 years with 261,000 KMS or 162,000 Miles on it and with replacing 2 batteries, 2 brake jobs all round, and a set of new tires all around plus regular oil changes and.still running on original factory spark plugs and wires amongst other items.Never let me down gets me from point A to point B.
