Smile 206,000 miles and going strong

Just wanted to say that my 2005 Uplander now has 206,000 miles. It's been an incredibly good vehicle.

Other than maintenance, the problems have been minor.

I've had to create a bypass for the hood ajar switch (which is a poor design).
New stabilizer links for front. ($22.00)
1 new front wheel bearing. ($36.00)
New battery ($104.00)
Replace keypads on fobs ($8.00 on *bay)
Water pump ($39.95 for new not rebuilt)
Finally replaced front rotors (did a full front brake job when doing wheel bearing, $140.00)
Rear wiper motor ($96.00).
Fuel level sending unit (2 bottles Chevron Techron, $9.99)

This van still has the original alternator. Original struts and shocks. Power sliding doors work perfectly. Annoying rattle, turned out to be middle row seats at their anchor points (easy fix). Surprisingly rattle free interior.

No oil leaks or burning.

A friend of mine has a new Ford Flex, and he thinks my Uplander is quieter and more refined on the road.

I know some folks have had problems with theirs, but I just wanted to say how great my van has been.

Have I been lucky, or have others here have similar "satisfaction of ownership"?

Thank you for the report.

Did you service the automatic transmission, change the oil in the trans?

Yes, I consider trans fluid and filter changes maintenance. First change was at just under 100,000 miles. Last change at 183,000 miles to Dexron VI.

This is good news. My 2009 uplander has 59,ooo kilometers and here is the list of repairs so far. 1: one middle steering shaft replaced because I could feel small shocks in the steering in rough roads. 2; The emblem has been replaced twice in the front. 3: front rotors were replaced on warranty because of small pulsations. 4: fuel tank sensor replaced because the gauge was not working sometimes. 5: my driver seat was cracking on the side vinyl ( I have the LT model ) LS model dont have this issue. Beside that I have not complained at all. THE ENGINE IS FANTASTIC AND VERY POWERFULL.IT IS ALL EQUIPPED FOR PULLING A TRAILER. i INCLUDE A PICTURE OF OUR RIG. sO FAR IT HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD VEHICLE. ALL THESE REPAIRS WERE DONE ON THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY.
