Default Change 07 Uplander plugs.

I was Wondering what the best way to get at the rear plugs on an 07 uplander is. I searched the forum and all I could find in the archive is instructions for an 05. There you unbolt the top motor mounts and push the van backwards to make the engine "roll" forward. Will this work with the 3.9L in the 07?

Thanks

I usually unbolt the upper engine mounts and pull the engine forward with a rope. I then secure it with a small cable that I keep in the toolbox, but a thick wire will work in a pinch.
That gives you fairly good access to the plugs on the back. You'll definately need a universal joint and a decently long extension to get your spark plug socket back there.

OK here's another probably stupid question regarding this; Can you just tilt the motor without having to say, disconnect the exhaust? Or is it possible to do it without having to?

My '06 at 128K (km) seriously needs new plugs and I sure don't want to pay to have it done when I can do it myself.

Yeah. The exhaust has enough play to allow you to tilt it.

If anyone is comparing prices;

On my 2005 Uplander, a month ago, I paid $183.00 Canadian to have the plugs changed [platinum plugs] at the Dealership in Alberta.
