defective emblem
Just replaced my second front emblem under the warranty, on my 2009 uplander. The dealer told me that they went to a different manufacturer for all the problems involved with those emblems. It is widespread on all chevy's models. I hope the problem is resolved now. What a mess!!!!!
They have had problems with those emblems for years, the replacements seem no better than the originals.
My replacements are going bad now as well... I may put blue ovals in their place shortly.

all i did was pop the transparent yellowish bowtie off, bought some dupli-color metallic stainless steel colour and a jb weld stick, presto no replacement needed, all you need to do is run a bead of silicone around the edge and your good to go
I used 2 small knives and just went from the sides to the center of the emblem, just be really carefull as it will break if too much pressure is applied. "SLOW AND STEADY". Basiclly all that holds the emblem on the chrome piece is a clear silicone. There could be an easier way but this has worked for me. Hope this helps
As the GM shop manual say: you have to warm the emblem with a hair dryer just enough to make it soft. After you pull it slowly and it comes off very easily. Would you believe I am at my second emblem on the front of my 2009 Uplander. I spoke to the dealer when I went for the second one and he said that they fixed the problem and the new emblems are made by a different manufacturer. I am not too sure if I can swallow this story because the new one looks identically made like the previous one. I dont know how many brands of GM vehicles are with this issue but almost all Siverados, HHR, uplanders and many more are infected by this virus.
