Lower radi assembly
Hi peeps,I'm Aaron,I have a 2006 Uplander and I love it! BUT! looking over the van I noticed the air dam under the van was sitting funny so I crawled under to take a look, only to find that the owner before me had the whole lower support piece tied with a phone cord. So that leads me to my question,WHATS THE METAL PIECE THAT THE RADIATOR SITS IN AND ATTACHES TO THE LOWER FRAME ,WHATS IT OFFICIAL NAME SO I CAN FIND A NEW ONE? OR CAN SOMEONE TELL ME A WAY TO FIX IT OTHER THAN GETTING THE PIECE THAT LOOKS LIKE IT BOLTS TO THE FRAME,IM NOT SURE
Welcome from Florida. This might be what you are looking for. You can also try the junk yards in your area or sometimes I find parts on Ebay.

it sits in some thin sheet metal that is welded in...
based on all the ones i have been under, it probably rusted out and started dragging
theres a cheap simpson strong-tie mending plate at most home depots that is a good size for repairing a hole or rusted support. theyre usually on an endcap near lumber.
you can halfway get away with it being rusted out because everything is mostly bolted on, but personally i would repair it. a steel stud of the largest gauge you can find cut down to size will probably be sufficient. the oem is very thin..

Awesome right now I got it mcgyvered on with 75lb zip ties, lol but the first reply,YES that is part of what I need but just the bottom,so what I think I might do is instead of spending an arm and a leg on the cheap apparatus GM has holding the radiator up,my buddy owns a fan shop,he makes dumpsters currently,so he's got some nice descent guaged steel, that were going to fab our own good steel bracket, there's enough room on the big beam just behind the radiator that we can either make it so it bolts on existing holes in the beam or not sure if it's possible without messing anything else up just welding to the beam, similar to like a skid plate,it'll definitely stay where it's supposed to when I'm done with it,lol THANKS FOR THE HELP!
