Price rip off on GM part.
How can you explain that you have to pay 4 times more on a beige plastic moulding button than a grey button? I needed a rear lower moulding button because of brake controller installation. They did not have the beige in stock so I bought a temporary grey for the resonable price of $1.60. When the beige arrived the price was 4 times more. The parts attendant could not explain why it was 4 times more. I call this a price ripp off.
Regarding price hike and ripoff on so called genuine GM parts; one of my stories is paying $6.50/rivetX4 in 2008 from the dealership when the muffler heat-shield unexpectedly fell off my 2005 Uplander. There was no reason for the shield to come loose, but it did. Darn caused an accident to the other motorists on the freeway when the shield came flying out from under my vehicle. The heat-shield cost me $200 to replace. Happened just after the bumper to bumper warranty expired.
Best I can figure is that the shield was improperly fastened when the van was built, if it was fastened at all
