Default 02 Venture Drains Battery

Like the title says my 02 Venture drains the battery & no one can figure out why. I tired of putting money into this thing. Alternator checks out good & there are no codes. I read somewhere that someone had one doing the same thing and even the dealership couldnt figure it out.

Need more detail, as how old is the battery, does it discharge over night, or 2-3 times a week?

Put a brand new battery in it & took it for a 15 minute test drive. All seemed fine but it did a quick miss once and then when I pull in to park it died. Sat for a week, started right up and drove it home. Sat for a day and the battery was dead.

Have you had luck with figuring it out yet? On mine (2001) the ignition switch is worn, sometimes if I turn the vehicle off and remove the key, the switch can be left in the 'acc' position instead of 'off'. This drains the battery in a few hours. I've learned to always check that it is actually off.

if it was all the accessories that are normally powered in run; I would check the ignition switch.
