Default 05 venture right cooling fan not working

Hello all!

This Venture's right cooling fan will not run. There are no burnt connections and I'm able to get power at the connection to the fan. All relays are working fine. I moved the relays from position to position and they both fire. The main fan relay is new. I can put power directly to the fan motor and it comes on.

The driver side motor works fine. The car runs cool enough for regular driving, but if I idle too long, the temp will rise.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Steve

So moving on. I bypassed the original harness and wired in two separate relays. The fans are now both working when the ignition is on. The cooling issue is now resolved.

Next question. The CEL for the fans that are bypassed . I spliced in 50watt 12VDC load resistors that you would use for an LED turn signal thinking I would fake out the ECU.. No Bueno!.. Is there something I can put in place of the fans to turn off the CEL?

Thanks
Steve

The fan wasn't coming on because of a fault in the circuit, not the fan itself . The trouble light will stay on as long as the fault exists. When you fix the fault, the fan will work properly and the light will go out.

See the diagnostic procedure here:
