3.4 v6 sfi engine will not run past 3800 rpm as soon as it hits it drops back to 3400 rpm.. I have replaced fuel filter and pressure regulator then tested the fuel pressure it stays at 48 psi and drops to 44 psi running so it seems that the pump is good.. I replaced the cam position senson the map sensor, maf sensor and even the ecm...it idles and runs fine to 3800 rpm then lops and drops to 3400 as though it is starving for fuel in this range. I also have checked both the 24x and 7x crank position sensors they tested good and I replaced the ignition module.. Does anyone have any idea what the heck I should check or replace next????there are no codes being generated.. Check your catalytic converter. It is probably starting some restriction.

 

MY car does this , maybe it is ment to do so , just like an rev limiter.
The fenomen is , when i stand still whit the car at idling speed (in P or N on the gear shifter) and pedals the gaspedal to the floor it cuts off when it reaches the 4000 rpm mark then dropps to .. say 3200 then upp to 4000 rpm... Just like it hits a revlimiter.

Byt when i put the gear in D and drive the car goes really well and if i do a kick down the engine runs almost up to 6000 rpm (without any doubts at all).


And i do not have any warning lamps lightning..

Is it supposed to work lika that as a "safety" system so that you not can overrev it on idle speed??
