My husband has a 2000 Chevy Venture. He had the transmission replaced May of last year, including torque converter. The problem he is experiencing now is he can replace a fuse, the van will run fine for a short distance, the fuse blows, then the transmission goes into slow gear. You can still drive it, but not at highway speeds...much, much slower. Any ideas?

Welcome to CF! Have you looked for any recalls on it, Id start there. I am not familiar with your drivetrain, maybe one of the certified tech's here on CF can help you with a better explanation. I did see a bunch of 3.4 Liter v6 models with similar tranny problems on a google search.

 

Thanks, Mike. I did check the recalls, but no luck. I will wait and see if a tech has any ideas. I was wondering if it could be a solenoid or a short.
