Default 2001 Venture *inner* bypass pipe

It's leaking. Clearly I'll have to take off the plenum, not just the throttle body it seems. I was wondering how it's attached near the thermostat. Is it flanged at the end, with the nut slipped over at the opposite end, then clamps down at/near the thermostat housing? If so, couldn't I just hacksaw it off after the bend, loosen the nut then rotate it to point towards the front of the engine - to which I'd attach heater hose w/a clamp. Unless that thing being routed through the plenum provides ancillary cooling (on account of it being right there), I don't see any reason why it has to be there.
Or I could hacksaw the pipe before the bend, to which there will be a vertical portion, where again I'll clamp some hose and along w/a hose bender, once again route it through the plenum. Like an idiot.
Or I could just go to the junkyard and use up an hour and a half. Which I want to avoid.

Thanks in advance. It's my first post. Dang.
