2002 Venture stumbling and dying.
If you were to read post #12 it might enlighten you as to what the OP has done. Sometimes it gets down to basics, if you think everyone as a dual trace scan tool they don't. If it is a misfire, even a cheap actron will give you that. Plugs may be a bitch to pull, but hey, start somewhere.

BTW, it's gone weeks now without dying until the other day (wife is ready to shoot me and the van). STILL no codes. Time to replace the MAF?
Peace!
OK, so I couldn't wait. Replaced the MAF. Two days later, it wouldn't start after having been run a few hours before. Next morning, fired right up... very frustrating.

So took the 7x crank sensor wiring off the vehicle - tested it like crazy, and couldn't get it to fail. So, now I'm thinking it's the connector on the ICM or the ICM itself.

Well, I finally got around to taking off the I/M for testing. Took it into the local auto parts place, and hooked it up. Started tapping on it as the test was running as a buddy suggested, and it failed the EST test, whatever that is. Tech suggested it might stand for Electronic Spark Timing - sounded good to me. Bought a new one (~$120 w/tax), and I'm going to try it out this afternoon.
