Default Camshaft Sensor 98 Venture.

Hello ! I'm new to the forums and could use a little help please

I currently own a (2) 98 Venture ... yeah I know

One is my parts van!

So the issue I'm having is trying to get to the camshaft sensor ! I know where it is and managed to get to it on my parts Van but had to use a pry bar and ended up damaging the pully for the power steering asembly. (reason I tried on the parts van first)

So the point i'm at is I've undone the 3 screws the hold the power steering asembly and managed to left it up about 2 or 3 inches. I can see the sensor, but no way of reaching it. I tried to use an extenstion and elbow socket, but the sensor is covered in silicone and I can't get the socket on. I need to get the power steering asembly out!

Do I need to take the pully off the power steering asembly ? Do I use a pully puller or is there a trick I'm missing here ?

If I take the pully off with a pully puller, how do I put it back on ?

Thankz for the help!

cheers,

Andrew

Well I think the water pump pulley part is an error.

Makes no diff with the water pump pulley is on or off. It's the power steering pump pulley that was in the way.

I've managed to remove that with the correct puller and installed the new sensor. Now I can't seem to install the darn pulley ! There is not enough room for me to get the tool in to get the darn pulley put back on.

From what I can tell the pulley has to be put back after you remount the pump asembly.
