Can someone point out to me where this sensor is? My Lights are always fully on and therefore my tailights always on so I have no brakes lights to turn on. Want to check to see if this sensor is blocked or needs cleaning before I service it. I would assume it is someplace by the dash and window, but have not had any luck finding and the manual does not give me a location.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

first of all, a model year would help a little.
secondly, the Daytime Running Lights come on anytime the key is on, the e-brake is off, and the headlights are off. And they only turn on the forward lights
I think what your getting at is the automatic headlight feature. There should be 2 small holes in the center of the dash near the windshield. One hole, has a red L.E.D. in it if you have a factory alarm, the other hole has a recessed sunload sensor. to get it out you have to remove both a-pillar covers, and pry up on the dash panel. To get the sensor out, you just twist counterclockwise

 

thank you for the explanation and pictures, they will be a great help! Year of van would of probably help! Lol! It is a 1999 and it is indeed the automatic feature that is all the time.

Hoping it is just a gummed up sensor and not a take it to the shop and spend lots of money deal! LoL!

You could always take out the DRL fuse out and just turn on your lights manually via the switch next to the steering wheel.
