My van keeps quitting on me!
Hey folks, I have a 1997 Pontiac Montana, and after driving on the Interstate and coming to a stop, it starts hunting for idle (going up and down + - 200 rpm) and then ultimately quits. Starts right back up fine and runs fine until I drive down the street and then sometimes it will do it again, sometimes not. Doesn't seem to do it until I've driven at speed for any amount of time. I am assuming it could be a fuel filter or something with the pump, but I would think if it's the pump it would do it more often. Maybe the pump is getting hot?
No overheating or anything like that.
The temperature guage runs around 180, but in warm weather, it will go up to 210 and then slowly start coming back down as the fans kick on. I assume this is normal.
I do not smell any leaks or anything of that nature.
Thanks for your help! I need to get this resolved because it's getting worse!
