I'm just needing to know if there is a wire that I need to unplug while setting the timing to 10 degrees BTDC. I had to unplug a wire on my 1997 Chevy S-10, in order to set the timing, then plug it back in. Also heard most 90's model Chevy's have this wire you have to unplug. Thanks in advance!

I found the wire, but it's only one wire, with a plug at the end. Like it was plugged in to the rest of the tan/black wire, but got unplugged somehow. I looked through the wiring jackets, but cannot find the other side of the wire. The one I found is coming from the ECM side, so the missing wire is supposed to be coming from the ignition module. Having said all that, when I read the instructions in your message, it says when you finish timing the vehicle "Disconnect Ignition Control (IC) bypass wire from ground and clear any trouble codes from the Electronic Control Module." I'm not sure what it means by unhook the bypass wire from ground. I thought you were supposed to unplug the bypass wire, set the timing, then plug the wire back in. Ughh!
