Default Trying to set timing on 1995 Trans Sport with 3.1l TBI

I'm just needing to know if there is a wire that I need to unplug while setting the timing to 10 degrees BTDC. I had to unplug a wire on my 1997 Chevy S-10, in order to set the timing, then plug it back in. Also heard most 90's model Chevy's have this wire you have to unplug. Thanks in advance!

Having said all that, when I read the instructions in your message, it says when you finish timing the vehicle "Disconnect Ignition Control (IC) bypass wire from ground and clear any trouble codes from the Electronic Control Module." I'm not sure what it means by unhook the bypass wire from ground. I thought you were supposed to unplug the bypass wire, set the timing, then plug the wire back in. Ughh!
