Default Venture Engine Idle

I'm reposting this from the general technical forum. This is year two that my '01 Venture van's engine is racing at idle and during regular driving. It seems to occur with summer temps (85-90+). When driving it is like the cruise control is on. The accelerator doesn't "kick-down" the idle. Turning vehicleoff then on doesreset the idlebut it jumps back up after acceleration. Problem comes and goes randomly. My mechanic put it on the computer and everything seems ok. Anyexperience or ideas? thx

Problem occurence is less frequent I'm guessingdue to cooler Sept.temperatures, however, problemoccured regularlyin August.Since then I've had to replace the serp belt and the small radiator hose on top of motor. I'm assuming that the increased heat due to motor racing is partially responsible. I've read that this could be due to a problem with the Idle Airspeed Controller. Looking for input. thx

We had some weird idle problems caused by a vacumm leak. The PCV line had a section that was made of some hard plastic rather then flexible hose. This hard plastic section had a crack. We didn't however have the overheating trouble.
