'86 V6 2.8L - Possible Vapor Lock or Bad Carb
I posted this on my Jeep forum and the current consenus is that I'm dealing with a Vapor Lock issue, and I wanted to get some input from GM/Chevy engine folks on their take on it.
If it becomes a replace/rebuild issue of the Carb, I'm looking at this for replacing: http://www.quadratec.com/products/51318_107.htm
It's a V6 2.8L in a 1986 Jeep Cherokee.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

So the beast is doing it's best to be my headache in life.
Situation:
'86 XJ V6 2.8L Running/Starting Issue - Carburetor?
Run the XJ a couple of hours of highway driving.
As its sitting at an idle after this, it cuts off.
Won't restart.
Fuel line is clear to the filter.
Didn't have tools to take Fuel Filter off at the time. (I do have a replacement one.)
No Fuel was getting to the carb.
Come back to it hours later, starts right up and I drive it like it's stolen for home.
On way home (90 miles of running at about 55mph) lose all my horses and drop to about 40mph on the insterstate for 2 miles. Loud back fire, all horses back up to 65mph all of a sudden. Stopped got gas 20 miles later as I didn't want to chance the parkway with what I had left, started back up right away. (5 min fill up) And so I parked it in the driveway till a descision is made on her.
So all you gearheads, whats the diagnosis for the beast. It did this once before on us, and a fiddling with the choke after it cooled for 2 or so hours and it started up. This time it started after cooling and no fiddling.
Any input would be helpful, and much appreciated.
Thanks,
Yeti
