1997 Malibu will not start when cold
Hello everyone,
I have a 1997 Malibu that will not start when its cold. I unhook the battery for 5 minutes hook up it back up and then it fires right up. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thank you,
Matt

Replace your battery. I don't want to go into this too much, so just read this link for your benefit. http://chemistry.about.com/od/howthi...oldbattery.htm
Your car always puts a load on the battery. Significant or not, unhooking the battery takes the load off of it, if only for a minute which gives you enough juice to start the car over. I used to do this from time to time to start cars at my old dealership when the batteries are dead. Sometimes it works, other times it does nothing. It all depends on how low of a charge the battery has.
Good luck.
