You can count this 1955 Chevy pickup’s mods on one hand. And that’s just the way we like it!

We certainly love our modern day pickups, but there’s just something special about classic examples from decades past. When rides like this 1955 Chevy truck were rolling off the assembly line, they did so with timeless styling and undeniable charm. These were the days when truck styling became a priority for automakers, and it sure showed.

You certainly won’t find many as nice as this classy example that we spotted over at The Collector Car Network, either. In a world obsessed with restomods and modern technology, the owner of this vintage 1955 Chevy thankfully isn’t. Instead, they built a truck faithful to its heritage yet sporting a few custom touches you might have seen back in its heyday.

That all starts, of course, with a nice shade of Candy Apple Red covering those gorgeous body panels. All the original chrome and trim remains intact as well. Because, well, a 1955 Chevy is pretty much perfect just the way GM created it. All this truck needs is a set of chrome steelies to set the whole thing off, which they do perfectly.

The five year restoration focused on originality everywhere else, including under the hood. It’s there that you’ll find the original 235 six-cylinder, with a 3-speed manual transmission behind it. The original foot pedal starter is still there, as is the brown and tan interior, though the seat is now covered in leather. Everything else is pretty much bone stock.

Which is exactly the way we like it. Beginning in 1955, Chevy was on fire in both the pickup and passenger car market for multiple model years. It was during this time period that we were treated to some of the most beautiful automotive designs the world has ever seen. And this mildly customized 1955 Chevy truck is living proof of that.
