Street-Legal NASCAR Chevy Truck Rules the Road!

By -

Apparently, the only thing you need to make a NASCAR Chevy truck street-legal in Mississippi is a set of working lights!

For most of us, the daily task of commuting is incredibly boring. Sitting in traffic, listening to talk radio, and trying not to erupt in a fury of road rage when people constantly cut you off. And you probably do the deed in some sort of mostly stock Chevy truck. Which isn’t a bad thing, by any means, but you could do better. You could move to Mississippi and daily something like this NASCAR Chevy truck!

At least, that’s what a guy by the name of Cleetus McFarland is able to do now. Partially thanks to some pretty lax laws in the great state of Mississippi, and partly because the guy he bought this amazing machine from went to the trouble of making it street legal. It’s no wonder McFarland refers to buying the truck as “one of the most rational decisions I’ve ever made.”

Of course, no state is dumb enough to let people careen around public roads in a full-on NASCAR Chevy truck. This one has a (somewhat) more modest drivetrain in the form of an LS1 and T56 transmission. But it still sports the original frame, bodywork, and even an incredibly loud exhaust that seems a bit insane for street use. But hey, it’s got headlights and taillights at least!

And that appears to be the only thing that separates this NASCAR Chevy truck from its race-ready brethren. But we’re guessing you don’t want to get caught out in one of those famous Mississippi rain storms when you’re running open windows and real slicks. Well, that and you’ve got to get in the thing Dukes of Hazard-style. But those are merely small concessions when you’re behind the wheel of the coolest street-legal ride we’ve ever seen!
