1999-2013 Chevy Silverado Supercharger Kit Adds a Healthy 200 HP
New Chevy Silverado supercharger kit fits SUVs and GM models from the same years, adding copious power for a reasonable price.
It’s no secret that one of the quickest and easiest ways to add a copious amount of power to one’s vehicle – pretty much any vehicle that isn’t already equipped with one – is to give it a supercharger or turbo(s). Over the years, we’ve seen more and more supercharger kits surface for all sorts of vehicles as a result, and that includes, of course, the Chevy Silverado, for every generation that it has existed. Now, another new offering has surfaced – a Chevy Silverado supercharger kit for 1999-2013 pickups that adds a significant amount of power for reasonable money.
That kit comes to us from the folks at Boost District, who just added this new Chevy Silverado supercharger kit to their catalog, and installed one on their own slick, red, low-riding pickup with an otherwise stock 5.3-liter V8, to boot. Along with the Silverado, this new TVS2300 supercharger kit can be installed on the Tahoe, Suburban, and their GMC counterparts from these model years as well, and it adds a whopping 200 horsepower without any other modifications needed.
The new supercharger kit fits within the stock belt drive and utilizes all of the OEM brackets, though it does come with its own idler brackets for max belt wrap and to reduce the possibility of slipping. The new kit also includes, of course, a TVS2650 supercharger, lower manifold brick/cooler assembly, bypass valve, fuel rails, a heat exchanger and pump, a belt drive adapter kit, coolant steam port and valley cover (for fourth-generation models), quick connect fuel rails, a fuel crossover line, an OEM map sensor and IAT sensor, gaskets, and head spacers.
Customers can also add injectors if so desired, but they’ll have to secure their own 3/4″ coolant hoses, a longer belt, and vacuum lines. Regardless, the Chevy Silverado supercharger kit is designed to be a pretty easy bolt-on job, and the air conditioning functions properly without any modifications needed, either. The kit retails for $7,300, but one can add FID 850cc injectors for another $550, or 1,000cc pieces for another $720. A heat exchanger is also available for $300, too.
In this video, we get to see the new kit installed on BD’s shop Silverado, and the results are quite impressive, with the truck picking up 175 horsepower at the wheels on the dyno – without the upgraded injectors. That’s pretty impressive for around $7k, and should make this kit a pretty enticing one for owners of trucks and SUVs from these generations.
