Now Might Be a Good Time to Lease a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox
Depending on Your Deal, You Might Be Able to Bring One Home for Less than You Think
The new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox will be in dealerships starting early next year. That means it might be worth taking a look at the 2017 model right about now to save a little money during the Chevrolet Red Tag Sales Event.
If you go to the Offers section of the Chevrolet website, you’ll notice Chevy is promoting a variety of incentives on the outgoing Equinox. If you find one with a red tag on it, you can save more than $4,000. You can finance a 2017 model for 60 months at 3.9 percent. Or you can get a $1,000 Total Cash Allowance. You can also lease a 2017 Equinox. After paying $3,049 at signing (or $1,049 if you’re already leasing a select GM vehicle), you’d make monthly lease payments of $189 for 24 months.
Actually….your payments may be lower. Chevy itself says it: “Your payments may vary.” The members of Leasehackr Forum can attest to that. After incentives, such as Supplier Pricing and a $700 cash card through the Costco Auto Program, some of them are paying less than half the amount per month that Chevy quotes on its website.
Earlier this month, one Leasehackr Forum user said:
“What’s new this month is the CHEVY lease loyalty/lease conquest incentive is now $2,000! Up $500 from $1,500 last month. Also, bonus tags are now worth $1,000 instead of $750 on a lease. So max potential rebates have seemingly increased $750, which would mean the best deal is now theoretically $31/month better than last month.
$500 farm bureau and $700 Costco gift card (for Costco members as of 30 Sep) are still valid as well.
So working with a modest 10% dealer discount (which many have reported getting, or more), and waiving the acquisition fee for MF bump, here is what a deal would look like in a state that only taxes the monthly @ 6% on a base LS with $5,950 in total rebates (not factoring Costco or this potential new rebate):
Base ’17 LS, 24 months/10k miles-
Monthly payment: $109
Absolutely $0 down.
First payment waived by GMF (in certain regions only)After factoring $700 Costco card: $80 effective monthly!”
Another stated:
“So, I got the following deal in California based on the info from this site/members (thank you):
Equinox LS
MSRP: $26,405
Selling Price: $23,417
Lease Loyalty: $2,000
Bonus Tag: $1,000
Lease Cash: $1,700
CCR: $750
Total Rebates: ($5,450)
Net Cap Cost: $17,967
Residual: 66% ($17,427)
Term: 24
Money Factory 0.00125 (waive the Acquisition Fee)
Drive Off: $0 (actually zero, drive off taken out of price)
Payment $72 (including tax)
Costco Deal: $700 Cash Card”
Obviously, there are a lot of moving parts in the lease process, but you might be able to put them in motion – and yourself in a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox for a price you like.
