10 of the Coolest Chevy Trucks Hitting the Auction Block
1978 Chevrolet C10 Pickup Truck
And last but certainly not least, there’s another Chevrolet C10 pickup truck worth mentioning. This one, coined the “Big 10”, is from 1978. The brown and tan two tone paint on the exterior is very reminiscent of the color scheme in almost every American house in the ’70s, so it’s a solid flashback to the simpler days. Though, this is no simple Chevy by any stretch of the imagination. This too comes with a 350 CI engine (it doesn’t mention whether or not it’s a six or eight cylinder on the auction’s site, but a quick Google search revealed it had a 5.7 liter V8). It came with an automatic transmission, and the purchase includes the matching fiberglass shell.
What’s nicer about the aftermarket shell as opposed to the closed bed on the earlier 70’s Suburban earlier listed, is the fact that the rear window slides open and closed. Thus, making a camper’s life a lot easier (and cooler). It’s even got dual gas tanks to boot. So, roadtrippin’ just got a whole lot easier. Akin to the other Chevy trucks listed, the original interior is intact. It also retains factory air conditioning, power brakes and power steering.
Unfortunately, that’s the end of the list for 10 of the coolest trucks to go up for auction later this month. Going through all 20 pages and choosing only 10 was a difficult task, but we certainly enjoyed it. After all, who wouldn’t enjoy gazing at these machines all day? Now, owning one, that is a whole other high!
