10 of the Coolest Chevy Trucks Hitting the Auction Block
1946 Chevy Pickup Truck
To bring it back to the era of swing and flappy dresses, there’s a 1946 Chevy pickup that’s attainable to attendees. This fully restored beauty still has the original engine in it. That’s right, that includes the glass jar that was used as a windshield washer fluid reservoir. The little inline six is mated to a very long throw four speed transmission. So, no one is getting anywhere fast, but at least the destination is reached in style!
The engine in this truck seems like it’s small for a truck, but this antique on wheels only weighs half a ton. Or, just a little over 1,000 lbs. So, the power to weight ratio is about accurate. And in anyone ever tried to claim it was a kit car (or, truck) the purchase of the truck includes a plethora of documentation proving that this truck was around to see AT&T announce and install the first car phones.
This isn’t a truck that’s likely to be daily driven – it’s more of a collector’s piece, or a car you’d see on Jay Leno’s Garage. Regardless, it’s worth showing. It’s always lovely to see old girls like this still kicking and running great. With original pieces and in mint condition. Even people who aren’t into cars will have to pick up their jaws off the floor. It’s true what they say: they just don’t make ’em like this anymore.
