This 1956 Chevy Big Window Truck Has Style To Spare
With its aggressive looks and updated components, this Chevy is a restomod done right.
Classic trucks will forever turn heads. There’s something about the body style of a classic truck that will make even the most non-truck people stop to admire them. So, when we come across a special classic Chevy truck, we feel it’s our duty to share with the rest of the world. And boy, do we have something fun to share today!
Over at Classic Cars, they have a truck that was recently on the market. It’s a 1956 Chevrolet Big Window pickup. For those that don’t know, the “big window” variety of late-‘50s Chevy truck is one of the most sought after for restorers. As you can see in the pictures, this 1956 Chevy is a restomod that is sure to turn heads and draw a crowd.
First things first, it’s difficult to ignore the two-tone paint scheme of this vehicle. The silver and blue compliment each other so well, with the black trim really bringing it home. It gives this truck a bold, yet refined style that will stand out in a crowd. Who says you need bright green or yellow to look unique?
As is the case with any modern restomods, the interior of the truck is where you start to see some more modern additions. Considering these trucks were not known for their superior air flow, this truck was outfitted with an air-conditioning system, as well as new leather seats. The gauges and wheel are all modern, but with a classic style, so nothing feels out of place. And you have to love the electric blue color from the exterior coming into the dash on the interior.
For those interested about what’s under the hood, the owner says there’s a 2004 5.3-liter Vortec Tahoe engine and transmission. There’s also disc brakes and a “Nascar style” crossover exhaust. With the new engine and exhaust, there’s no second-guessing when the owner says that it “sounds great.” Clearly, this is a bit more of a beast than the original truck would have been.
Obviously, this 1956 isn’t a truck for everyone. If you don’t want people to stop you in the middle of the road to compliment you or ask you questions about your truck, then you might consider this vehicle to be a bit…much. However, for those of us who enjoy a truck with style to spare, enjoy the gallery and tell us what you think!
